View Full Version : Where to go to get my soil tested?

I want to go to get my soil tested in spring to see what is wrong with my soil and why my grass doesnt grow that good. I do not know where to go to take my samples. Anybody got any ideas?

county extension office does it for me, or you can buy the kits from lesco. I like the county to do it becoase the client does not think your trying to pull one over on them.

penn state analytical labs, soil test kit $6.00 from my local mill house. you can't beat that price and results are excellent.

a & l labs, several located on east coast, but do soil test know, don't wait till spring

Where do I look for the counties extension office or county coop? Like what do i look for in the yellow pages?

a & l labs run 8.50 to 12.00 per sample
a & l labs like other professional labs give a beterr lab result, and I know at one time ext offices in va test where free but college students did the testing.
wouldn't want one after a hard nite partying

When do you guys think is the best time to do soil testing
? Or does it not matter?

I like Texas Plant and Soil Lab. They test soils from all over the world.
