Hi All,
I have updated the Mowing Estimator software:
I added a setup dialog now you can set defaults for speed and Hourly rate, Yes it will now figure out the charge for you. I added the ability to change the trimming speed too and it will figure the charge too.
You can get it at my software site:

Brian, sounds like you need to spend more time learning how to use a computer and less time on forums ;)
Once again sinclacs software downloaded and installed without a hitch, first time.

It scares me that anyone could find winzip confusing.
After downloading it several times, I finally got it to run and man it looks good Sinclac.
Very well organized and definetly will help in the future bids.
THANKS

Hello Everybody:
I just downloaded it in less than 8 minutes with AOL & no problems at all. But it's no wonder using the #1 Internet Service Provider in the world.
LOL, I know I will get flack over this, but hey over 30,000,000 + people can't be wrong. I've been using them since 1994 & if they went up another $20.00 a month I'd still use them.
I even surf the net while downloading & can download 2-3 programs at the time. Then If I need too I'll switch from AOL, MS Internet Explorer 5.5 & or Netscape Navigator 4.7 while doing all that MUMBO JUMBO. You get what you pay for, I don't get paid by AOL either I'm just a Loyal Customer & really more like a advocate of theirs.

landscaper3,
With winzip and windows just right click the mouse over the file and choose a location. Couldnt be simpler.

Sinclac,
Without the variable input fields I outlined in another thread this program really is just a calculator with a fancy user interface. And the trimming/edging calculator baffles me. If I have a yard that is .2 acre but has very little trimming how can it take the same time as a yard that is .2 acre but has a considerable amount of trimming?
Also there needs to be a curve built into the calculations. The dollar per hour figure is always more for smaller yards than larger yards. In other words there is a volume discount.
Two more things. First, you cannot compute partial MPH. If I try to compute 1 acre at 9.5 MPH it will default to 9 MPH. Second, any changes to the Setup window do not apply until you close the program and then reopen it even if you click the "Apply" box.

Then i would have to say you have no need for the program so don't use it!
I did not say this program is perfect but i thought it would help some of the other landscape pepole out there.
I'm not going to spend the time it would take to add all variable input fields you outlined to a FREE!!!!! program.
<g> since it is such a lousy program i guess i will take it off my server.

As for spending more time on computer (DONT THINK SO) I spend enough time on it and could really care less how to operate the things I dont know about, im busy enough and dont want to be a computer technician. Hey I spend time here reading forums to learn or help learn and could give a damn on learning more on computers sorry not my life!

Sinclac,
Thanks for the free download. This will be a useful tool in my box.

No need to take the program off your home page. Although I do feel you could use more variables on the trimming, I think the Estimator could be of great use. Just got through bidding a 65 site job and could have used your program two weeks ago. ( I have no idea how to build a program so my hat is off to you for any program that might help me) Thanks for sharing it with Lawnsite.
Thank you,

Mine downloaded so fast I had to wonder if I did it right! It's really cool and can help someone stay within their mark on bids- whata guy for doin' the freeware thing. Are you gonna come out with Mower Estimater 2.5 and make us all upgrade with new product key #'s?

Whoa there big guy! I thought that we were still dealing with a beta program here and that you were still taking comments. I have participated in a quite a few beta programs before and I am used to being highly critical during these testing phases. I guess you don't even want me to talk about the "divide by zero" fatal error that reared it's ugly head then. Please accept my appologies.

if some one is good at math out there (I'm Not :( )and can give me the formula for figuring out the EDGING part seperate from the trimming i wi glady add it to the program.
