I purchased a Shindaiwa EB630 blower and a Shindaiwa T260 trimmer from "Smoker" here on Lawnsite. I use the blower today for the first time and I must admit, it much more powerful than my Sthil BR400! I am very impressed and must say it is now my favorite!
One question, it has a metal wire on the right side that is pulled out from somewhere, anyone tell me where this connects?
Thanks,
Ray

There wire I think you are talking about really doesn't connect anywhere..its called a Lead Wire. Its needs to be placed under the Volute Case and the side of the Bend Pipe and then through the inside of the Flexible Pipe. In other words in is placed through the connection of the first pipe (through the clamp) and remains inside the pipes...
Ray, You won't be dissapointed with your eb630. I have 2 of them and a Redmax eb6200. I like using the eb630 with only 2 tubes ,instead of 3. I'm not real tall. I'd send you a self picture but I'm afraid Stone would paste it every where! What do you think of the t-260?

Bob, I like the T260 and the way it handles. I do not like the spool it came with, I had to refill it after 2 short days. I keep 5 full spools for my Sthil and will look at my options before I buy spools for the T260.
I have not moved my BR400 since I got the EB630, boy it moves the leaves.
Thanks Lonestar, did just as you said, no problems.

Glad to hear you like your new your new EB630 blower. I bought one about a week ago but have not picked it up from the dealer yet. When I bought it the wire you are talking about was missing and I waiting for it to come in. The wire is some type of static discharge. I demoed it without the wire and whenever you would get into some dust it would start shocking you.

Yo Ray, the hair is the least of your worries!
If I wear cotton gloves while operating my eb630 or eb6200 , I get a small shock at the throttle!

I fully agree with you on the power of the shindig, man I was impressed. I don't think there is a stronger one on the market. I am going to make that my next blower, I've only demo'd one for a couple days. My dealer wanted $460.00, what did you get it for?

P.S. The BR400 felt like a punk after using the Shindig!

The Shindaiwa EB630 is a RedMax EB6200. RedMax let them have that in trade for the (Shindaiwa) broom attachment that they are putting on the new Strato Charged units.

The new redmax eb7000 i think is the most powerful I beleive. A little more so then the shin. I will be getting that for my next blower.

Homer, I bought it from the used equipment forum, from Smoker. I got the blower and the T260 trimmer for $570 with shipping included. It looks brand new. I used my BR400 today while my wife was using the EB630, felt like I was using an electric Crapsman. I will be selling my BR400 and buying another EB630 later.

Homer, $460 isn't bad. I think Alamia is up to $430 shipped

I know this is not the topic of this thread, but you mentioned the new broom on the Red Max strato charged. One of my equipment dealers showed me this piece of equipment the other day and I was not impressed. It's $600 plus and I just didn't think it was worth it. She said I could just buy the attatchment and put it on the end of my Stihl power pruner. I said "Yeah right"

The majority of my handheld power equipment is Shindaiwa and I think it's the best. However, I did recently buy the RedMax EB 7000 and I love it. This is my first backpack blower so I cannot compare it to the Shindaiwa. I love the EB 7000 but man it's a gas hog.

I've had the EB480 for 5 years now and love it. Is the 63 heavy like the 480 is, that's why I love the BR400 that I have also. For in and out of the truck BR400, large complex/area Shin EB480- is it the same with the 6300?

Powerreal...I have a eb480 and a eb630. No comparison!! The 480 is nice and its quiet, but the 630 will blow the pavement off!!!! One thing that is a little different is obviously the throttle, but another thing is gas, wow!!! The 630 is a gas hog. The 480 has been very reliable for three years now, but I love the 630. They weigh pretty much the same, in my opinion. Alamia lists them both at 20lbs.

How much gas and how much louder is it? How bad is gas consumption and is the gas tank bigger then the 480?

Mine 630 is new, so maybe it will get better gas (mileage) as time goes on. Its definetly louder than the 480, I think it runs at 77db and the 480 is 68. I could be wrong, if I am, I'm sure someone will correct me, but I really do not feel like going and looking at them right now. The gas tank looks to be about the same size, but if you are worried about gas consumpsion, you are in the wrong business!! :) More power, bring on the gas!!

Hey guys,
go to http://www.alamia.com. They are selling for $435 the EB630 Shindaiwa Blowers. This comes with free shipping. That is a wonderful piece of equipment. I am sad though.. They had a sale last month for $399.00 free shipping. They have a nice selection of equipment with free shipping. They take most forms of payment.
