View Full Version : does anyone own a gravely PM 34Z?

I have been looking at the exmark 36 TTHP but since looking at others and the price the 34Z seems a little more practical.
However since they are new I would like some input.
1. What did you pay?
2. How do they mulch?
3. Do they bag well?
4. If you owned a 32 or 36 walk behind also do you think the gravely 34Z is better and more manuverable than walk behind?
Thank you for your input. Also if you have any other remarks please put them. Thanks.

I personally do not own a PM34Z, but I have looked into one. I currently have a gravely ProG 13HP 32" cut, and love it. It mulches great.
As far a price, my dealer is starting theirs out at $4200, which is comprable to a 36" w/b.
Although I have never ever used a Z, I would think that it would be better for the following reasons:
1. You Ride instead of walk
2. Cut almost 3 acres, instead of 1.5
3. larger fuel tanks
4. the decks height look much easier to change, and it is floating (i think).

You can't trim with a Z like you can a walkbehind. I demoed a little 36" or smaller woods Z. It was ok, but I can mow a lot faster with my WB. (duh I have 12 more inches)

I have a gravely 34Z and it is the best new purchase I have got.

The only downside to it that comes to mind, seeing as it costs the same or less than many comparable wb's, is that if you do happen to have places where it won't go you'll still need another wb.
I've walked, sulkied, and ridden, and by far, when the weather is hot, I prefer to ride. It's like resting. Supporting your body on a sulky and transfering your weight to and fro is not the same. Doing a few yards part time you may not care, or even prefer the workout, but over time it takes its toll vs. riding.
