Toro T-Bar

Pros

-Very easy to use & learn.
-Able to control w/ one hand.

Cons

-Zero turns are difficult & imprecise as the bar is joined & independent wheel control lacking
-Somewhat sloppy for fine work.
-Difficult to control on hills
-Lacks cruise control

Hustler H-Bar

Can be considered an evolution of the T-Bar, similar concept w/fixed bar but w/ advantages the T-Bar lacks.

Pros

-Very easy to use & learn
-Able to control w/ one hand
-Excellent for wide are mowing w/velke for speed control & wide turns.

Cons

-Difficult to lift front of deck
-Lacks independent wheel control input from operator on the Z-turns which may lead to more divoting or 3-point turns.
-Lacks cruise control (may have this now)

ECS

Pros.

-Excellent independent wheel control on z-turns . Operator input can allow for z turn @ higher speeds & in varying conditions.
-Very precise in tight areas
-Fairly easy to flip up deck while mowing
-Cruise control

Cons.

-Can be fatiguing
-Longer learning curve
-Cannot operate effectively w/ one hand.

ECS I have them you can not push down on the mower to lift the deck with out a Herculean effort arms are just not in the right alignment and going over ledge or medium rocks is much harder then the old pistil grips this spring I intend to pay to have the mower converted to conventional hand grips.

There's no need to flame. You see, like the boy that cried wolf once too often, all of us that know you as Ultimate Lawns and many other names, wonít play one of your games. I hope others that are not aware of you childish pranks will not succumb to bothering to answer you.

I like the T bar. Have a 52 Toro wb belt, and a 52 Lesco w T BAR

I like this set up. Can be driven 1 handed, If you let go on the Toro, the blade stops and forward motion stops, engine runs.

With T bar I have a varible speed w 4 settings. To back up let go

of T. pull machine back or shift to reverse push T. Works well in rain. Ed

Is the T-bar the other model of handle versus the trigger models?

edward hendrick, I like the T-Bar as well but you lose one of the great features of a hydro, which is controlled zero turns.

The independant wheel control is lacking & while you can punch it to make one wheel spin forward & one back it is much more difficult than 2 lever systems like ECS or pistols.

Maybe the T-bar is a little more difficult to z-turn than ECS or pistols, but it is a lot easier on the hands.

The T-bar is ideal for limp-wristed sissies and those who just want a mower that is easier to operate!! ;)

The T-bar is Toro's control system. Fairway has posted a picture right below your post. The H-bar is Hustlers control system.

Maybe the bottom line is it's "not" UL that's nuts, it's the rest of them  Wow, what a "wake up call" for me. I "am" the dumb one, not UL...........
