I have a 5 year old Scotts 6.5 horse Briggs Intek, self-propelled mower. I've hated this mower ever since I've owened it. The engine runs great, just everything else breaks on the unit. I've "jerry" rigged the self-propelled machanics to get me though another season or two, since the wife frowns when I talk about a new Toro or JD.
The mower mulches poorly. I never realized this until I mowed my lawn w/my fathers Snapper, big difference. I use an OEM mulching blade and keep it sharp.Rant stop....

Curious if some of the "fancy" mulching blades make a difference (Gator Mulcher, Viper Blade etc)? Trying to keep my sanity for a few more seasons. If it matters, I live in Orlando FL, cutting St. Augustine.

TIA

Chris

Chris,
I know your wife wont like my anwser.

Pay a visit to Main Street Mowers South of 50 on Miguire.
He will have the blade your looking for...and the new mower.
I would avoid Home Depot Ect. you will get NO service after the sale.

Or you could just hire me!
