I have seen some questions asking about the specs, so here rhey are:

Briggs has a great website if you ever have time to check it out. You can get specs and part breakdowns for any model engine you have, with part #'s and all. I guess they do it to make it easier on the dealers when ordering parts.

Thanks for the detailed info. The torque figure on the 26.5 diesel seems really low(44.1). Heck, the 25 hp Kohler has 39.5. Where did you get this info from. I called the Briggs factory in August and requested info on this engine series and he didn't even know it existed??!!

However the 50.5 lb/ft in the 31hp seems great for powering 72" machines. I have heard that this engine is really thirsty. I guess it is, it looks like a real powerhouse.

Exmark really has to look at this Torque rating thing for that diesel. I probably powers a 72" OK but is probably JUST OK. If I'm going to pay all that money for a LC Diesel, I would like it to be more powerful than this.

I think your 26 Yanmar beats the Briggs for Torque. Do you know the torque rating for yours? I had the 22hp Yanmar in my JD F935 and they said it would power a 72" OK. Those torque ratings had to be around 45-50 lb/ft.
