I tried making an "S" in my lawn for the michigan/michigan state football game last year. it didn't turn out perfect, but it was easy to do. if you stripe your lawns, the "S" is almost already visible. you just have to have your angles correct and go over it numerous times to enhance the look. just something fun i played around with

if you noticed, the bullseye is shaded so half is dark but the same line on the opposite is light. It will look like it's perfect but always have the difference from the grass being laid down in 2 different directions on the same ring. Still neat looking.
