I was looking for a good place to get business magnets to hand out to customers for easy access on their fridge. Is there any places on the web to get them at a good price?

Hey one dgree,

Try magneticsigns.com They are very helpful in the process and pretty cheap, I think I paid $160.00 for 350. And my customers love them!!

Try www.gophergraphics.com . You may have to email or ask in thread but they are some of the best people you can deal with.

I bought some from a print shop....just blank ones. I just peel the backing paper off, stick my card on there and run it through my laminator....works great!

We pretty much do the same thing. buy the magnets with the peel and stick. We just apply our buisness cards to them.

I do that too. I got them from staples. If you already have buisness cards printed up, its alot cheaper than getting them custom made. Heres the link to staples website:

$22 for 100 magnets, not bad. I sent one out with my christmas cards.

www.promohut.com is where we had ours done. I like the fact that the lettering is actually printed on the magnet not just a piece of paper that is stuck to them. Payed around $0.16 a piece and you can get them for $0.13 a piece if you buy in larger bulk amount.

Chris08087,
$22 for 100 magnets works out to be $4.54 per magnet. That seems a bit high per piece.

MCDANIELSBROTHER,
$160 for 350 magnets works out to be $0.46 per magnet. Thats better than what Chris08087 is paying but still seems a little high.

Weatherman,
Great suggestion to go with vistaprint.com.. They have excellent prices at $0.16 per piece.

Also, the link that you provided will do the magnet cards for .16 if you order 2500, then you have a $15 setup charge, then a $25 per lot copy charge then if you want bleeds they charge you another $15. For 500 cards they charge .29 cents each card plus all those other charges.

Hi One Degree,

If you want to do this on a low budget and a small scale you could consider doing them yourself with self adhesive magnets. Click image for link.

Walker,

Your right, my bad (got my numbers reversed) it was only 0.22 per item which is very decent, but keep in mind that you also have the printing cost of your business cards.

If the average business card costs around 0.08 per piece to print,
and the magnetic backing costs 0.22 per piece then your total will run you 0.30 per piece for your magnets.

It's really a wash weather you do it yourself or have it done professionally.

Walker,

I ran the numbers again just to compair the prices.
Promohut.com offers 2500 magnetic cards at 0.16 plus 15.00 setup, 25.00 copy charge, 15.00 bleeds : TOTAL $455.00

Staples peel back magnetic strips 0.22 x 2500 $550
Plus cost of business card printing 0.08 x 2500 $200 : TOTAL $750.00

$450.00 to have it done professionally or
$750.00 to do it yourself.

Even if you don't need any business cards printed up to paste to the back of the sticky magnets it would still cost you more money at around $550.00 just for the magnets.

If your only going to do around 500 magnets then again the prices between the two options are very close in price.

Chris 08087,

Sorry to mix up your pricing the first go around (got my numbers reversed), Walker was kind enough to catch my error and correct it.

Wells, I guess my main point was that most probably don't want 2500 magnetic business cards and if you do...you route would be more cost effective. I only give them to paying customers who have used one or more of my services.

It would take me years to pass out this many business cards and then there are the "what if's". What if I changed my phone number, what if I changed my logo, what if I added or removed services listed on my business card. I had 250 estimate forms last spring and already I have changes that I want made to them.....add my website address is just one of them. So now I am stuck with all the forms I have now or I need new ones printed. I am sure I will use the ones I have now until I have enough changes I want to make to the new ones before I go back to the print shop.

Sorry about that Walker, I didn't understand what you were using them for and that you only wanted a small amount done at any one time. I think I assumed you were looking for bulk quantity.

We have them printed up 2500 at a time. The reason for this amount is we use them to hang our flyers on people doors. The general idea is that the flyer will probably immediatly go in the trash but hopes are the magnet will end up on the fridge. A daily reminder on their fridge so when the time comes that they need a particular service it will be right in front of them instead of trying to remember where they placed that old flyer.
