Looking at a few trucks. How was the Power stroke diesel in 95?
Or would you go with the 351 in a 97?
How do they hold up to mower pulling?

I'm not stuck on Ford, that's just what's available.

Phil, I have a 95 F-350 PSD. Sucker will pull a house down if you had to. Between trailer (2200 lbs) and combined weight of mowers (3000+), I have absolutely no problem at all...75mph down the highway like there's no tomorrow.

Hope that answers your question btw.

the 351 is guttless. GO with the diesel you will not regret it

Air cooled all the way. Ford sucks.

I have a 95 PSD, and it is an animal! It will maul that 351, and get better mileage in the process. Parts can be mighty expensive, and there are things to be aware of when looking at one like if the previous owner used coolant conditioner, a PSD is an expensive thing to replace. A good strong truck to be sure though.

Definitely go with the powerstroke, you won't go back to gas.

Once you go diesel you never go back to gas again I would take the PSD if you can afford it. The PSD will walk all over the 351 powerwise the 351 is pretty gutless alright for city driving but if you live in a rural area with hills thats another story.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I decided to just put a new 350 in my 87 Chevy. I know this truck inside and out.

Maybe a new 2006 Power Stroke or Duramax.
