Redwing shoes not boots??

Does anyone wear the redwing work shoes?? If so how well did they hold up?? I tried on the 6" boots and these and thought that these would be more comfortable to walk in and looked alittle more appealing in shorts.

I can't stand getting debris in my socks so I've always gone with boots. Last year were 8" and this year I am starting with a pair of 9" Irish Setters. I am completely comfortable in them all day behind my walkbehind.
