I'm curious to know if anyone on the forum is using Kubota ZD's ? I just took delivery of one - and they are certainly quality built - and the diesel is way worth the cost in my book. Would be interested to hear any input on it.

Which model did you buy ?

The only thing I have heard about them is that the 28 hp is very good, but the 22 hp is way under powered. The machine is pretty heavy, and the 22 hp engine is overwhelmed if mowing 60 inches and trying to go up a hill with all the weight.

Get the diesel for sure. I have run diesels since 1988 - 332 JD tractor - still have it - 5000 hrs - no problems at all - tons of torque - easy maintainance.

Run 3 455's now.

Thanks Brad

I went with the 28. I have a buddy who has 3 - 21's and couldn't be happier. Guess it all depends on the mountains we climb!

I have ZD 28 and I am happy with it although its built like a tank should last 10 to 20 years with proper care.

I havenít used the Zdís but I loved my 4-wd Kubota Diesel. If you take care of it that engine will save you a lot of money and will last a long time. The great thing about the name brand diesels is when you want to get rid of it, their resale is very high.

I had a 21 and was impressed with the engine and the drivetrain but the deck scalped way too much. Although I didn't like the mower, I had no problem selling it for what I what I was asking.

I haven't heard that many complaints at all one these. We sell a ton of these at work and most of them are the ZD21's, however the 28's are awesome and are comparable to any diesel mower out there in my book. Just my 2 cents
