Hi Guys, when I'm in NY, I stay in East Rockaway- I service Great Neck-Port Washington, Oysterbay-Woodbury and a south shore route NHP,-East Rockaway-Rockville Centre-Bellmore, [ Give or take a few towns here or there].....if anybody is intrested in organic supplys, I'm a distrubitor and producer.....compare my poultry poop to LESCO's sustain[ $20 bucks a bag]...on small volume I can go $10.00 per bag on the pallet, compost teas, much better prices than PHC or LESCO [ they avg. $50 bucks for a 100 gal mix]......I can go $35 and down to $25 per 100gal mix........[ on a 10 bag min. for the $25 price]...."Stay Green, Live A Healthy Life":cool2: :alien:

Hey Guys,
I see you're all locals, I'm from the Coram area. Looking to get in part-time or maybe even full time depending on the response to my ad that I will run in the next couple of weeks. What are you guys charging for your services, you know for 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 and so on?? Just mowing and spring and fall cleanups. I am not going to step on anyones toes here, yet all I want is to provide a good service to my area of detail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a mil!!!!!!!! 3Caratz

Deer Park (Suffolk)....yea it seems like everybody is a landscaper on long island. There is alot of companies around here.do you guys think it would be harder to start in long island since there are so many people doing it.Or does that just mean there is a big market for it.??

Probably harder, since anyone with a mower and a pickup is considered a landscaper now. If I had a dollar for every company named "Jose Landscaping" I would be able to retire tomorrow. :)

Im in plainview area and have 70+ accounts and wondering if any of you can tell me who to contact to become legal in Nassau? We did it part time and trying to expand a whole lot since we decided this is what we want to do for main source of income.. Also what do some of you pay for insurance i got a quote already for about 1000 a year

Also i think everyone is a landscaper on LI or everyone has a family member who is one lol.. we have no problem finding tons of customers.. our appearance is terrible our truck is terrible... But we are young, nice to everyone (customers, competition, neigbors) and do a goood job so apparently thats all people care about from my experience... We are going to get a real truck instead of my 97 gmc jimmy towing a 6x12 trailer and t shirts this coming season

JJ, I know you posted it a month ago, but if you still need the info on getting legal, Nassau County Consumer Affairs is (516) 571-3871. You will also need the Oyster Bay license, they are at (516) 624-6322. I work in Suffolk, but just got all my licensing to work in Nassau.
If you are interested, the Nassau/Suffolk Landscape Gardeners can help you get all the info you need, they helped me when I started. (631) 665 2250

Just quick question to all us long islanders, what are you guys charging for black mulch this year???? thanks

AL Inc
04-20-2008, 06:28 PM
Googles- I get most of my black mulch from North Service Nursery in Dix Hills, they get $20/yd. So I usually try to get $80-$85 per yard installed. But try to get whatever the market will bear.
