I was thinking of buying some business card magnets with our company info, logo, phone number, etc. These are the type of magnets I would hope people keep on the 'fridge door.
I was wondering if you all have used this type of advertisement? And, whether could recommend a company to buy the magnets from?
Thanks!

Yes, I got my magnets from Office Max. I'm not sure how much they were. You peel off the back and just place your business card on them. My customers really like them. Hope this helps.

I got mine, the true business card magnet. They are 53 cents apiece due to several colors but look much better than the type you stick your card on. Much more professional. Looking at about $265 for 500, but worth it. Just be picky who gets them. I only give them to true customers or those aerating and seeding jobs so that they know to call me next time. I never use them as business cards.

dhicks, The magnets from Officemax are the way to go. They are about 21 bucks for 100. I had to trim just a hair off the eges when I put the cards on, but it was easy just running the scissors down the edges.

I ordered pens from Nat. Pen & was happy with them. They were cheap enough and my customers really like them,I give them 2 or 3 pens every time I see them, the pens have gotten me a couple jobs also. I would definetly get more when I run out of them.

I use the office max peel and sticks and I give them to potential customers at the time of my first site visit.

Use the peel and stick exclusively. They work great, are easy and affordable. Go for it!

Guys,
Look at your on refrigerators and those of your friends. Do you see those stick on type or the professional type? Do you want to be known as the "yardboy" type or the professional business type. I have collected these stick on type from competitors, and well, it gives me great confidence in my business verses theirs. Do you want people to continue to think that we are people doing this for fun or side money or do you want people to take us seriously as a business? Most of us want our business to be in the higher income areas. What do you think this says about your business to them?
If you want to be cheap, do it on used tires for your trailor, buying trimmer line in bulk, seed and fertilizer in bulk, but don't do it when it comes to your name in the market.
I just think 250 or 500 of anything is too large of a quantity. How many customers do you have? 100 would be enough for me to give 2 to everyone I mow and have as friends. Those peel and sticks look crappy. Real printed ones are the way to go.
Pens are good. I get freebies from the pen companies at least once a year. Type of advertising depends on how many customers you need. Me? I'm booked and have been for years.
