Tiny Tach Meter

I had a tiny tach meter installed on my new walk behind before I picked it up. I just recently had one installed on my two year old walk behind. I thought I read somewhere that these meters run on batteries that last three years. I see nothing in the instructions about a battery. Looks like a sealed unit. Any info would be appreciated.

They are sealed units and contain a lithium battery.

Just dont try to clean it off with your finger when its muddy-it will eventually become so scratched that it will be unreadable.

While it is good for oil changes and maintenance I was thinking more long term as far as keeping track of the hours. So if the battery dies in three years I will have to start all over again if I plan on keeping the mower.Don't really like that.
