Is there anyway i could fit a 50" mower on a 4x8 trailer? I dont have the trailer yet and i dont have the mower yet.

Yeah, I dont see a problem with fitting one on there. Buy the mower first and measure it before you buy the trailer. You won't be able to fit a whole lot on there though.

im getting a free 4feet wide, 8feet long trailer from a relative. I was thinking putting it side ways but i dont know if the mower is longer than 48 inches.

I doubt it would fit if it's got anti scalping wheels on the side of the mower.

Why not just buy a 48 inch mower? It would probably fit the best.

Most mowers are at least two or three inches wider than the cut dimension. Sounds like a pretty tough fit if the trailer has sides on it.

Usually if something is 48 inches wide, i have found putting something 50 inches wide in it to be particualarily difficult. Maybe its just me.

if there are no sides on it you'll fit it fine, however if there are sides it ain't fittin

I honestly thought that at first then realized maybe it does not have sides on it, and he doesn't know if the wheels are too wide. If it has no sides it will go fine. If it has sides, well, I don't think I have to complete the thought for you.... Basically not enough information was provided.

first of all the lawnmower is 50'' and the trailer is 48'', so the lawnmower will not fit if the trailer has sides/enclosed. If the trailer does not have sides, or there is gaps you could fit it on there. You could even angle it on there, however, i believe its illegal to have anything loaded on a trailer that is wider than the trailer without having a warning of "wide load" on it. Ask the secretary of state, or even the police dept., they would know. Second of all, the 50'' is the cutting path, you still have to consider, grass shoots(which most commercial companies take off), plus the length between the end of the blade and the deck of the lawnmower.

Sure.. Put that 48 (which is really 51 or 52 inches wide) on that 48 inch wide trailer.. Let the wheels barely get onto each side of the trailer.. And then take a couple of hard turns at speed and see how far you can bounce that trailer after the side of the road. <G>
Especially since you said there are no trailer sides.. Sounds like a great setup to me. <G>

I bet the 4*8 trailer is a little wider the 48" and a little longer than 8' Thats what I found when shopping for trailers. My 6.5x12' trailer is about 6' 8" by 12' 6" on the inside.

I am with him.
I tried to fit my head in my @$$ but the hole is only ? and my head is ?
Hello. Unless it is a flat bed you are going to ruin your mower.
Take the trailer sell it and buy a biger one. I suggest 7foot or wider. Lentgh pends on what you have but I would say at least 14' to start.

Build one side of the trailer flooring up high enough so that when you drive the mower up the entire mower will be angled sideways and it should fit OK.....May have to try several different heights to determine the height you need.
