I am in the middle of building a raised flower bed 40' long 36" deep and 18" material is wood. Im lining the inside with landscape fabric. Question is, should I partially fill with rock before filling with soil to aid in drainage? or just fill with soil. First raised bed install so all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I've built them both ways and had them work equally well. I think it probably depends on what material you have available. I hate landscape fabric though. Any contracts we let, discourage the use of landscape fabric.

Built many raised beds. Just use soil. Plants with deep roots will thank you.

Yea soil only, you don't want any problems down the road with dirt washing off the stone or something, get some fill dirt, mound that up, put down topsoil over that, maybe roto til it together, plant, and mulch....my 2 cents
