it's almost crunch time. in fact i actually did some manual labor today. in 2-3 more weeks we will be in full swing. what will you miss most, if anything, about winter vacation? for me, this winter was the first time in my life i actually did nothing. this is what i'll miss: sleeping till 9 am. taking my afternoon nap at 1 pm. cracking a beer at 3 pm. not showering for 2,3,4 days at a time. the way i look in the mirror after pumping iron for 2-3 hrs. time with my kids and wife. so, what will you miss the most?

Hmm.. I'm not going to miss winter at all, but if their were one thing I'd have to say taking vacations (since it's the only time of year I can do it) and also getting better grades in school since I can study more and I'm not working as much. My school schedule isn't all that bad becuase I only go 2 partial days a week but when I'm working I don't have time to study.

I know the thing I will miss most is the stress free lifestyle of the winter. No rude customers to deal with....no outlandish deadlines to constantly meet...... no employee problems to deal with....and of course sleeping till 11 every day. I am ready for cash to start flowing again though!

I'm going to miss skiing a little, been the family sport of choice forever. I teach skiing so I'm getting burned out a little right now, just trying to coast to the end of the season. I hope to be cutting and doing installs in the next 2 weeks, can't wait.

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!I hate winter!!!!! Hate plowing, There is absolutely nothing I like about the 4 months I sit around doing absolutely nothing. The only reason I plow is because half my customers want me to........Winter is the most depressing time I have ever had to endure....

I can't wait to put the plow away, I made great money with it, but put it the hell away!

There is only a few things I am going to miss.I really hate winter to start with but I will miss sleeping until 10:00 drinking a pot of coffee and sitting here at the computer on Lawn Site half the day.
The afternoon naps before bowling nights will be gone, and I know for a fact it is going to kill me to be getting up at 7:00a.m.
again to start work but I am really looking forward to a good season this year.

The other things I will miss is reading all of BobbyGedds posts and the threads he starts because he makes this site a lot of fun.
I can see it now when i'm working this summer and have a PITA
I will say to myself now what would Bobby do with this one.:D

I will miss absolutely nothing about winter. I HATE plowing. I HATE shoveling. I HATE Salting. I HATE getting 2-3hrs of sleep per night during the whole month of January when we plowed about 26 times. I wish I could fall asleep mid-November and wake up late-March. The money doesnt make it any better. WINTER SUCKS :realmad:

Me too...I already sold my main truck, and my other truck is for sale in the equipment forum. I've had enough of plowing, loss of sleep, chasing plow money into spring, higher ins. rates, etc...Too many rednecks with plows around here to be competetive anymore. They'll do a $ 125.00 lot for $ 40.00.Let 'em have it..Bring on Spring!!!!

I'll miss the sleeping in!

Even though North Fl. doesn't get as cold as some of you 'Yankees' states,I'm still tired of it!

Put on a good layer of fat through the winter- it'll be off in 60 days.

I just got back from Venezuela and am already missing my newly acquired family down there. The cabana on the military beach, swimming in the warm water, drinking freshly made pina coladas...

Kinda seems like a dream, but I guess its back to the salt mine again.

Yea, winter starts out nice with sleeping late and having time for things you like, but then it gets flat boring. I know its only 3 or 4 months out of 12, but it seems like 7 or 8. They can send a craft to Marz, they can spot a single pot plant growing in a patch of johnson grass from 2000 ft, cant they find a way to divide the seasons up a little better like 3 weeks summer/one week winter, 3 weeks summer/one week winter, repeat. Then I would look forward to winter!

By the way, those of you who love winter sports, the Nokia snowboarding World Cup is going to be here at our mountain this weekend - only U.S. stop this season.

And, General Grounds, stated that what he would miss about winter is the consistent sex... Well, me too. You see, I have it almost every day. Almost Monday... almost Tuesday... almost Wednesday...

I'm in the minority ... but I miss working every day. The worst time of the year is coming to mid-December, and realizing the season is over.

I need to be productive every day, doing something useful. I don't know how to "sleep in," as many of you stated. Laying in bed when I don't need the sleep is a waste of time!

I spent much time this Winter reading books, 11 good books, one was not good. I will miss that part of the season, as I have three more waiting on the desk.

I've been able to start working at least three weeks earlier this Spring than usual, not every day, but most every day (cleanups, clearing fallen trees, trimming, etc). The phone is ringing for work almost every day. Many callers are asking for season-long mowing, again three weeks earlier than other years, all unsolicted potential customers. I've overbooked for the season already, and mowing won't start for three to four weeks.
