I bought a JD ZTR 737 last spring..... 52" cut, 23HP Kaw, 10gal tank.... all I can say is wow. Impressive machine! I love mine, for me last season I proved that it is just about 3 times faster than a 48" JD HYDRO tractor (18HP) which sold for nearly $6000. I paid $7800 for mine (roughly). Good luck, we need to have a JD club!

Hey guys, I want to be in the JD Club!! I have a JD 757 and feel the same way you guys do about your Deere's. What a machine!! I couldn't ask for a better cut. My customers love it too. Good luck to ya and treat her like a lady!

I'm looking at the same mahcine right now.

I take it you like? Being in MD, you must be using on cool season grasses. Have you used the mulch kit.

How is striping?

Hopefully they will come out with a folding ROPS bar option too. Deere recommended the FEMCO ROPS for my JD 757, but I think it sucks. It is a 4 point canopy system with a top, which I don't want and it doesn't fold either. Why can't they just make one like the tractors have, which is a single bar that folds in half for low branches? C'mon Deere, hook us up!

I've had other JD Equipment thru the years but no ZTR's. I know it will be a great machine. I've been around friends with all kinds of mowers but I kinda like the overall quality and the finished look of JD.

I bought a757 with 60" deck in November . I have only put 5 hours on it but I love the way it handles and has the Deere quality throughout.Just bought a GS-30 last week but have not used it yet. I hope I like it as much as the Z-Trak. The Deere equipment has been good to me.

Sounds like a good price to me.

717 w/48" deck lists for $7400. My dealer had a blowout sale last season and had one for $5500.

I think you'll be pleased with the gs30...except you arn't going to want to use it after riding on the Z.:D

I guess I've gotten some decent prices from my dealer:

737 23hp Kawa 60" $7400
737 23hp Kawa 54" $7150

I'm thinking of jumping this week. When I pressed him to come down a little more, he told me they wouldn't be worth selling for any less:p

I'm already a proud member of club green. I have a 6x4 gator that I love, but the newest gator is even cooler!

I also had a 1997 lx176 14hp kawa one lunger with snowthrower, cab, collection, the works. I bought it used, ran at home all year round for 3 years, and sold it for more than I paid for it! Mrs. Greenmonster wanted to keep it, but had to finance the new ZTR!

anyone think the 25hp is worth another $400?

How about mulching? Who's mulching with the z-tracs?

I see your from Phoenix, I spent a lot of time in the Valley missing around with lawn care in the winter. Yes you do need the 21's way more than the bigger mowers. Do you have a lot of accounts??

Green Monster, I did'nt price the 737's but I felt the price for mine was inline with the other brands. It's super competative here with dealers because of all the lawn services. It's crazy per capita how many we have. There's more ads in the phone book than many larger cities by far.

Peck & Chef

Thanks for the info on the mulching. That's encouraging!

A few more ?'s:

I assume no one is using any striping apparatus whereas JD is coming out with the roller this year. They still stripe well?

Are you guys mostly just running jd blades, or going aftermarket?
hi, med lift, and mulch

Thanks

I have a 717 with 337 hours with a mulching kit and a new 737 with 60" deck and an accelerator ordered. Fantastic cut quality, the 717 mulches the best of any mower I ever used. My 717 was 6200 out the door and the 737 was 7000 out the the door. The dealer was crying over the price on the 737 about he was not making any money LOL yeah, sure he wasnt. Another dealer quoted me 7700 for a 737 with 54" deck then got miffed when I did not buy from him. 1100 bucks is a big difference.

Hey, Green Monster, I made my own striping kit for my JD 727 out of the old reliable mud flap. With streel and JD green paint I think I have $4.00 in it. I run it just about 1/4 inch above ground level and it stripes very well, but doesn't rub the ground of scuff. It sits much lower than any roller kit (closer to the ground) also.

I want a motorized OCDC, but no one makes one for a JD so I am in the process of making one of those now. I made a manually operated one for about $3.00, but would rather have a motorized one with a foot control.

Take care.

Congratulations Tyner on your Deere purchase. I've been using a 757 for a week now (demo'd it twice) while I'm waiting on my 777 that hopefully will be here later this week or early next week.

I've had a lot of JD equpment over the years and when I farmed, they were to centerpieces of all my ag equipment. You can not beat John Deere in my view.

Welcome to the 'club'. :D

I'm going to put lights on my 777 when it gets here. Still haven't decided whether to go with the factory setup or to mount something myself.

I was quoted ~$170 installed for the Deere kit - how does that compare to what you've been quoted?

I bought a 737 in the spring and love it. I have nearly 100 hours on it already. I just wish there was a stripe kit available for it. I am attempting to make a stripe kit from ideas of this site using a roller from Mcmaster-Carr. I will try to post some pics if it works.
