Damn Karl, I didn't know thats what you were talking about when you said slashing!! We run about 8 (Bush Hogs as we call them) with John Deere Tractors and 2 Case tractors. We also have a few High Reach mowers and some other stuff. I'll try to take some pics too. Thanks for sharing Them!!
----------
"guido"
David M. Famiglietti

WOW!! I'm Hollywood now! :)
David, that's a fair sized setup you have.
I used to run a JD 1140 with a 6 footer.
Didn't have the power. The tractor pictured
above is a Deutz-Fahr DX310 50hp. The slasher
is a Superior LX5 with a 400hp rated gearbox.
I can take down stuff over 4" thick with it.
The tractor has a 2.9 litre 3cylinder air
cooled direct injection diesel. The most common contractor machines here are mainly
Fords like the 4110.Case is starting to get
a good rep here 'cos of the Perkins and Cummins motors.
I'll be sending more pics soon with some good
stuff in them.
Thanks Eric.
Karl

Getmow, I was using a Kubota T1760 rider
with catcher.I now use a new Walker 26hp efi
with 48"GHS deck. The areas in the subdivision pictured are irrigated. The slashing job(bush hog) is a 53 acre park that
I've been cutting regularly for 3 years.I get
it done with the tractor and 5' slasher in
12 hours.
Eric, If I ever visit the US I'll have a major problem driving over there.Probably
cause a smash. That pic of the inside of my
truck is of a 73 International ACCO with
V8 8.3 litre Cummins with 10 speed direct
roadranger. It is used soley to carry the tractor.I wonder how I drive it myself.:)
I'll send a pic of the other truck as well.
It's a bit more presentable.
Karl

Karl, I was at a sale today here in Canada and there was a guy there buying equipment to ship to Australia. He was buying everything from Weed wackers to big Toro batwing mowers. I guess he can make a good dollar doing it. Alot of stuff from here goes to the US because of the difference in money, now I gotta compete with the Australians too..:)

Cantoo,
I've heard of people doing that.
Problem is they bring in machines and models
that are not available here.Consequently
parts are impossible to get here.
Karl
Karl, I took a couple of pictures of our mowers for you to see. We have more, when they come back from the shop, I'll put somemore pics up. I can't figure out how to put them here (and don't want to waste the space) so I opened one of those online photo albums. (Don't know how to make a cool blue link either :) ) http://communities.msn.com/GuidosEquipmentPics
check em out....and put your tractor up there too if you can. Thanks

----------
"guido"
David M. Famiglietti

Cool site,Dave. Over here the Army don't
bother painting the tractors green. They leave
them the original factory colour. They use
Kubotas presently. Most of their slashing work
is contracted out now. That particular model
Case tractor on your site has a real bad
reputation here for gearbox and clutch
failure. BTW, the pic of the Ford with the
batwing sure looks like a John Deere to me.
:)
Karl
