Anybody have any good web sites I could go to just to look at all types of plants trees exc. to learn the names. :confused:

you can check out the Horticulture programs website here @ uconn. they offer a large plant database where you can search or browse by name (scientific or common).

Russ, you might be shocking the kid with Bruno's website!

It's been a while since I've looked at it, but there's a lot of info on it. (I'm talking about the Purdue site, for those that don't know) There are literally thousands of links to many sources of information. Much of it is scientific research, IIRC, but there is some there that is in "laymens" terms...

If you want books (I know you didn't ask about them, but I'll tell you anyway), anything by Michael Dirr will be a good reference book. Try Manual of Woody Landscape Plants for starters. I like Dirr's style, seems like any time I look something up I usually have to laugh at his comments on whatever it is I'm looking up....

Just gotta say that the Purdue P.L.A.N.T. site is the best I have found. I think it otta be bookmarked by every member here. The only question I have not found answered there is "What is the best mower?" and it's probably there. LOL
