Licensing question? What do I need

I am in Massachusetts and it is my understanding that I can apply lime, fert and seed without a license. The question I have is can I apply a fert with a herbicide included or only straight fert treatment. How hard is the pesticide licensing exam, as I may look into taking it. More of my customers are asking me to apply fert treatments . Thank You

Herbicide is a pesticide and you need a license. In my state you can take a one day class followed by a test. Or you can do the home study. I did the home study. The book cost me $45. I worked at it on and off for about 6 months until I felt ready to take the test. I took the test back in Jan and passed it. Now I can make the big $$$.
