7018 is that the rod you used? Crank the heat up to 175 and you will get better penetration.

Yea i thought about doing a type of bumper hinge like you drew, but you cant see in the picture, but there is a bolt welded to the side with the spreader stand that keeps it from shifting side to side, the strap was quick to tie it down securely, takes less than 10 seconds to put it in the rack and strap down.

I can Handel 10 sec but any longer and you would have to scrap the hole thing lololo:D :D

Didnt use rods, MIG welded with .35 flux core wire..

Yea there are, just goes along with using flux core really. That was before i ground all the welds smooth and cleaned it up nice, getting ready for paint.

if i were going to make one, i might off set the mount from center so your license plate is visable.
