Sounds about right. I have a 99 toro wb w/ a 16 vanguard, that I would say has around 5 to 6 thousand hours on it to date.

I have a 48" Exmark WB and it's about 12 years old. Still runs great. I bought it used about 3 years ago. No hour meter on it so not too sure of the # of hours. It has a 12hp Kawi and it starts on the first or scond pull. After sitting all winter it only took 3 pulls to start. If you take care of any machine it should last a long time.

I have an Exmark Viking (hydro) with Kohler 15hp ProCommand. I changed engines after about 3,500 service hours, and now have put another 1,500 hours on the machine. I've changed spindle bearings, but after 5,000 hours on the machine, it still is fine.
I understand that the 3,500 hrs on the first engine is considered very good service. I work solo and do all my own maintenance work.

Sounds right,This is a big statement but if you take care of your equipment it will last a lifetime.

Also, use it the way it is intended to be used and don't overwork it (i.e. mulching grass that is too high).

my company recycles mowers at around 1500 hours. Get the best they can give and then sell them b4 the resale value disappers.
