They had a special offer at an open house. They are regularly priced under 6K here, BTW.

You can get a real mower for that kind of money......

stay away from Lesco for equipment...you will have service issues down the road and the equipment is not very well built.

JMO.....stay with brands like ExMark, Scag, Great Dane etc....great machines with awesome dealer support!!

Funny Grassmaster, we have had no problems with the 4 Lesco mowers we have. One which is over 5 yrs old and runs like a horse.

How do you know there not well built? Have you worked for Lesco and know this to be true? If there mowers are worthless then so must be everything eles they sell.

You have been very lucky..

Lesco mowers are built by MTD and they are not top of the line by any stretch....been there, done that.

My main point is that there are much better machines at comparable prices.

yep, and some of those much better machines have MTD built parts on them, some parts that are on other machines are hydro motors, hydro pumps etc. Said it before on some machines theres alittle MTD in them. Oh by the way I have 2 ztr cub tanks, no problems with them. I went with who gave me the best service, could have been very well scag/exmark or who ever. So I can't see how there so much better when they share parts, same deck design, same deck material thickness, same size frame, same engine options, same donaldson filter options, same cup holder, the list can go on and on, it boils down to who give the best after the sale service.

Dan, was there a sales tax? Conn. is six% So 6300+378. =6678

The 54 and the 60 are about $100 apart. I have a 52 Lesco

w/b. Bought it 1997 no complaints. The engine platform is thicker than my Toro 52. I'll compare the Lesco to any other fixed deck 52. My Lesco was in April 03 Turf . Ed

lesco is one of the leaders in the industry .

You guys keep going out there and pay for the name ill stick with lesco.

All the big dollar parts are the same on every mower.......

If you crack a deck its your own fault.

I cant help but wonder why so many have issues with Lesco machines? The engine is the same as exmark ,scag, etc, etc.

You can buy a real mower for what you paid!!

If my Lesco mowers "arent real mowers" What are they then?
Why would Lesco be the a top brand for those applying Chemicals, yet have there name of cheap mowers? Doesnt make sence to me.

O well, I guess its like buying a vechile ,you buy what you like not what somone thinks you should.

This thread is funny. The lesco mowers are just as good as any other mower. They are made with top quality parts, have very thick well designed decks, greesable spindles etc etc. There is nothing wrong with them. Only issue I see is possible warranty support if its ever needed. Our lesco dealer doesnt have an in shop mechanic but they use a guy about 5 miles away for all the warranty work.

I just got quoted a price of $6000 out the door on a new (last years model) 54" Z-TWO with the 23hp kawi. Normal price is $6,600. You guys feel this is a fair price? I was quoted $6,800 for a 48" Lazer Z HP at another dealer. IMO thats way to high for a 48" concidering we paid $5,000 for our current 48" lazer z hp about 4 years ago brand new.

WOW sorry guys I didnt realise this thread is so old.

I was quoted last week , march, 2006 on 54"/23 kawi z-two @ $6599 + 6.50% tax that bring it out the door @ $7027.94....so what you think.
I pass, and look somewhereelse cause the mower is good but parts are hard to get here and they keep up bumping their price to big brand territory as soon as Z-two made some imppression in community. It is up like $600 from lDecember 2005! Besides, the repair center confessed they do not stock parts like other dealers of other brands, it has to be ordered and may take week or weeks or month depending on what items, so that is enough to keep me goose bumps and find less down time. You know you need quick and reliable service center to help you all the way....parts parts parts, my friends

lesco has all my parts no latter then 3 days from day of purchase in stock for no extra charge so that statement is false also i have gotten them next day shipped and it was a very small extra cost i had to pay not months

I can tell you first hand why some have such a good experience with Lesco equipment while others do not. I currently have a 36 belt, a 48 hydro, 2 Viperslast season had a new 60 & 72, made them take them back. The service (management) had changed & the new guys while very nice don't understand that if the machine is down it cost you money. Combined with the fact that the parts were recalled by corporate. I'll give examples of the problems I had:
*72" Broke front axle down a week
*misc. parts vibrated off, I replaced out of pocket.
*72" deck got out of level: I paid to have repaired
*72" main deck drive belt broke, I replaced, had to go to tractor supply
because they didn't have a dealer, I paid
*72 bar across shoot broke, ordered new one, got wrong one, I welded my
own up.
*60" hydro line blew apart a coupler, didn't have part, weren't going to replace all the belts saturated in oil. Returned broken after waiting for parts for a week.
The real cincher was when I brought the 60 in with the blown Hydro line, right at clossing time, the assistant manager left without letting me bring the mower in, claimed he never saw us.

The moral of the story if the managers understand you & the business your in good shape, once things change....look out. We have bought all the mower there, a perma green sprayer, kaw trimmers/blowers/hedge trimmer, fert, etc. Spent around 10K/yr. Now I'm over to John Deere, brought some stuff in for service, boughtt a Little Wonder blower, so far been good experience.

Yeah, that's way too high for just the mower.
They are listed for less right there on their site.

I did recieve a flyer from Lesco with some higher prices, but the machines pictured had baggers on them and I just assumed the price was with the bagger.
