When I bought my FasTrak a couple of months ago, the employee that helped load it on the truck left it idling at full throttle while he momentarily went for some equipment. I throttled it back to a lower speed, thinking he had forgotten to. When he returned, he advanced the throttle to wide-open again and told me that was necessary to keep the hydro units cool.

Is that the case? The operator's manual has no warning about it. Can the hydro motors overheat at idle speed? The idle seems to be set pretty high as it is.

There are fans on the hydro pulley's that are always turning when the engine is on.
I don't see why he told you this.
The idle is adjustable and I can give you the idle spec if you let me know what engine you have on your FasTrak.
