View Full Version : 1/2 hour for lunch?

Do your employees ever come back at the end of the day and say they did'nt take lunch today? I tell my guys at the beginning of the year that I will take out a 1/2 hour for lunch everyday, so you might as well take it. This takes the honesty part out of the equation. Does anybody else do this?

They better take a lunch since they are required to by law, well, at least in Michigan they are. Might as well eat because you should take 1/2 hour out daily for lunch breaks.

we take a 1/2 hour out for lunch breaks, but if we are behind and the crew wants to work through lunch, they will get paid for it. it doesnt happen often, but its usually on a day where everything is hectic from 6 am - 6pm and you are playing catch up.

Crew is required to take a two breaks each day (one 15min, and the other is 30min).. One in mid-morning (10am) and the other in the afternoon (2pm).. They know that they are not getting paid for either one of those breaks. If we are really busy and need to keep working, I will pay them for one or both depending on how much we need to get done.

we charge our employees a 1/2 hour break to eat their bagged lunch everyday. no bagged lunch=hungry employee, i am not your mommy, don't even think about going to a fast food restaurant.

as for breaks, they get plenty of windshield time in.
