Okay, here’s the deal. Someone has offered me a 2001 Walker EFI 26 hp mower with a 48” deck and the 9.5 bushel catcher. The mower has about 150 hours on it and this guy is asking 10,500 for it. Lets assume that it is in good condition… I think similar new 2004 models would go for 12,500 or more, but regardless, should I be jumping up and down over this price he quoted?

Seems high. Usually there is a spread between list and negotiated price. Although not sure what the current market conditions are like.
I was in Montana last May; dealer agreed price was for $10,500.00 (48" & 26 hp EFI) 2003 year

Good Luck shopping, Vlad

I just bought a new 26 EFI 48 GHS with 9.5 busshell, with a used 54" side discharge, and the coupling for 10,500. So I think that price is way off. Good luck

I think you're kidding, Texas Dealer. A couple years ago I priced new 26 hp EFI models with the 42" deck and the price was almost identical from one place to another, with the exception that one dealer said that he puts the low profile tires on his. Unfortunately, outside of the local dealer, the next closest dealer is over a hundred miles away and on the other side of the Cascades.

Here is the quote for a new 2004 26 hp EFI with the 48" deck and 9.5 bushel catcher from the local dealer:
tractor $10,552
48" deck $1,679
freight-assembly $395
total $12,626

we paid 8500.00 for a 26efi ,9.5 hopper, light kit, two years ago, I think the guy is trying to recupe his original investment back, just my opinion.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. Needless to say, I didn't jump on the deal. If the guy calls back I now have a little more ammo in my pocket.

Jethro, that sounds like a pretty good deal. Was that with the 48" deck?

Chan, uh huh, I hear you. Right now I think it's snowing up on the pass, but if someone offers me a better deal I may drive it - later.

Anyone compare the low profile tires to the regular ones?
