Armour stone and ponds

Hello
I was wondering how you guys install armour stone (about 3.5'x2'x1.5') around the perimiter of a new pond. What I do is usually dig a tiered pond, put underlayment, liner then underlayment where the armour stone will be sitting. Then I chain the stone up by its perimiter so friction holds it and lower it in with a skidsteer and chains. what your method?

I see a lot of guys around here using hihoes with grapple hooks. They can lift up any stone and set it exactly in place.
