I'm shopping for a new leaf loader 16 horse to replace my 11HP. My local dealers sell Billy Goat, Lesco, and Little Wonder. Anyone notice any difference with the shape of the chute. Billy Goat's is round where as LW & lesco are both square, just wondering if there is a differnce in performance and clogging.

Just bumping it, come on guys I know a few of you have loaders.

I've got a square LW chute, works fine. BUT, read my comments about the LW that I've posted here before. Do a search. It's a good machine, but has it's drawbacks.

Jeff- I have a 23 Billy goat with the round tube- Bigger is better

Thanks guys.
MTD I read your posts last week sounds like the LW might be too big. Is it your first loader????

Joel, You said it bigger is definatly better. I am leaning towards the BG, but I think yours might be a little too big for my set-up. Do you have it mounted on your trailer or is it on it's own. I want something I can either mount on the tongue of my trailer or directly on my leaf box.

Yes. And too big is an understatement, for my needs at least.

On a trailer, no dump. For me, it's too tall. The box I built was almost 9 ft tall off the ground. Just didn't work out right for me, the way I had it last year. I'm stuck with it now, so I've got to figure out how to make it work this year.

Jeff- I was going to mount it to the front of my enclosed trailer, but as life is, it wasn't close to fitting. So I went out a spent so more money and bought and open trailer that was longer than the enclosed and had my welder cut the middle of the trailer so it would sit on the decking and then made a cage around the vac. I will try to take and post pics tomorrow. I'm thinking about trying to mount the vac to the fount of the truck for next fall as well.
BUT that vac is so powerful it's scary, the intake hose is 12'' and takes leaves faster than you can move the hose. Joel

Well, if you're interested in making the trip, I might be interested in selling it. Let me know.

Joel, make sure you keep your belt real tight!!!!! My dealer has a 20 HP but I haven't seen a 23HP. My 11HP packs the truck pretty full, I can't even imagine what yours can do!!!!!

I think you're a little too far. The gas money alone would cast me a small fortune!!!

I'm glad the intake hose is only 12'' or my wife would be missing me while she's sipping on a drink down in the Florida keys

I never had a problem with it clogging- and it laughs at sticks that are 2-3'' thick. The only problem we had with it all fall was on one jobs the leaves were soaking wet and slowed things down alot but that was the worst leaves could be. They were wet for the time they fell off the tree to the time we took them away.
Speaking of packing the truck we would look that the box which looked full and we would just put alittle more in..... 2-3 piles later we would then have to go and dump.payup Joel

Nice!!!! less trips to the dump is always a good thing. I hate paying to dump when I know they just turn around and resell it anyway!!!!

I only had to pay 2 times last year. My uncle took the rest of the leaves to turn them into compost. Saved alot of money that way. Joelpayup

That looks like a pretty sweet set-up Joel. I have a ramp that i can drop on that end of my trailer so i can back my Walker right into my truck. Whould the BG have fit on the tounge of your trailer?? That's where I'm looking to mount mine.

LB Landscaping

Oh, yeah that bed edger looks cool, looks like you might have used it today!!!!!

If you have an extended tongue it MIGHT fit, just check the measurements and see what space you have left. There wasn't enough space on the front and it worked out better mounting it on the trailer deck. Joel

Be careful about cutting into your trailer. Make sure you aren't cutting into a structural beam, or the thing will wobble all over the place!

Nope won't fit, (figures) even the smaller BG wouldn't. I am going to try rigging up a way to mount it right on the box this weekend.

jsaunders where did you get your bed edger? I am trying to decide between the brown edger or the bed shaper. MB has the bed shaper depending on the moter around 2800.00.

I got the edger at the local dealer in town- It has the 8 hp honda for $2349. There is a $100 off coupon on the trenchers/edgers that I recieved the day after I bought it. I'm going to stop at the dealer and see if I can use it. Joel
