A guy called me out of the blue wanting a price to spread 10 yards doulbe shredded hard wood that he had delivered to his house. 6 yards go in one spot, the rest in various beds within 20 yards from mulch pile. It'd be me and one employee with shovels and wheelbarrows.
I was thinking 200

Sounds about right I would get $35.00 a yard to do it!

Thats $350. I know he paid 140 for the mulch, delivered. I have my doubts he'd go any higher than 200 to spread it, if that, but I can't go lower than 200. That said, from MY point of view, 300 or 350 sounds comfortable.

So dont ? it anymore sounds like u found your answer, if u think that it is a good number than do it I personally do not let custumers get their own material this way it leaves more room for profit but I know he called after the fact anyway its a piece of cake job just bang it out and get paid good luck to whatever u decide!

We install bark for 32.10 a yard. Use a pitch fork instead of a shovel by the way. If you need the work and you dont think he ll go over two hundred then you have your answer. If its got to be around two hundred give him a wacky number like 238.10 Makes it sounds like you got alot of thought into it and an exact price. If you say Ill do it for two hundred bucks it sounds like you just shot of an estimate or if you just say three hundred. Then he will think he can low ball you. Just my $ .02
