View Full Version : Truck bounce!!!

We were heading home from a job saturday pulling a 6x12 enclosed trailer. the truck is a 95 F-250 4x4 with EZ-dumper.When we started to slow down for traffic light the front of the truck started to bounce and sutter! This went on for about 200ft until we were able to pull off the road. Can anyone tell me what might have caused this or what I can do to prevent this from happening. Has this ever happened to anyone? Thanks.

Maybe a broken shock or something in the front suspension or a warped brake rotor a couple of suggestions

Bounce like in the front wheels getting light? Sounds like you had too much weight on the rear. Most breaking is done with the front wheels. Take the weight off them and it will increase stopping distance.

did you have to mcuh tounge weight? Try to redistibute the weight .
do you have electric brakes on the trailer? Sometimes if they aren't adjusted right they can send your truck for a ride, but i don't know how much weight you would have in a 6x12 enclosed trailer...

i had a exmark 32 in front,a wood bench that I built, a crate with hand tools and two backpack blowers on top.shovels and other tools hanging on walls. That's it I didn't have the work bench last year but wouldn't think that would add that much weight.plus I didn't have my other mower in there yet.The only thing i can think is because I didn't have the weight of the other mower in the back that might have made it heavy in front.
ITS A FORD,

Most likely it is a warped roter, when was the last time you had them turned?
