I started using Amsoil 100:1 my equipment. No problems so far. I also like that it does not smoke when properly mixed.

Amsoil is excellent stuff, check out this story hehe. My freind had an old dodge pickup, he believed when the oil was low he'd fill her up and that would be his oil change after like 6-7 fills. Well one day i convinced him to really change his oil, and better yet with amsoil. So he did. WOW, lol, the synthetic blend broke down all the sludge and grime he had built up for 180,000 miles, clogged the oil pump, and started creating leaks everywhere!!! Within 8 hours of the oil change this all happened, the sludge used to block the small leaks and seal them from leaking, well when the amsoil ate through it, wala, leaks leaks leaks. Needless to say he trashed the truck and swore to me once more "If it aint broke dont fix it" lol i still hear about it today and that was 6 years ago...
well tried in cheap blowerthat oscilated
a little on 50-1 but still ran good.
It disintegrated ,not really.
noticed the oscilation stopped so,
SO FAR SO GOOD it ran cool and strong.
Next the stilhs etc
Meant to comment about your experience.
That can happen and should always be considered.
viva la nondetergent oil or lard or what ever
it takes to keep it running. been there
USED AMSOIL IN EVERYTHING.Everything went
well.Ijust wonder if these machines are
made to stand that much rpm. Ibelieve it
increased rpm on my blower 20-25
percent.Almost sounded scary.
SO FAR SO GOOD
Never tried amsoil, but from what you all are saying i think i try it this week. Just bought a new BP601 backpack hope i get the 20 extra hp, Marks Mowing Service
Sorry not hp just the rpms LOL

where do you guys get it? Can you get it in bulk, for how much?
just go on a search engine and type in
AMSOIL.Then dealer search. Iget mine
from some guy in Salisbury NC.
Ithink ive decided to back off to 80-1
Like i say this equipment sounds a little
scary at that high rpm. Some of the cheap stuff
may not handle rev that high and i dont
want to carry but one container. This is just
my observation. by the way here is link
i found my card. http://www.CROW-OIL.COM
Okay fellas i went back to old mix
50-1 stihl for a day to see how much of this
was in mind.It ran fine on the stihl but
the change is not imagined.AMSOIL REALLY
ROCKS THESE 2 CYCLE MACHINES.So now ive
been the guiny pig and im not an easy sell.
Until i see something wrong im sold on
the stuff as being the best.TM
PS SORRY LINK DIDNT WORK. YOU CAN FIND IT THOUGH

I've been a huge fan of Amsoil for years and never had any problems with any of there products. First I used the 100:1 for my moped and the smoke reduction alone was dramatic! The moped would hesitate and even die out with cheap stuff. I use 10-30 in my 86 Mazda Truck and change oil once a yera since I bouhgt it new. Never lifted the valve cover yet! Almost 200,000 miles. Go for it!

100:1 is only for light duty it says on the lable to mix a little heavier for extreme duty. been using amsoil in everything for years and wouldnt consider any other brand.
they offer commercial pricing, warranty and oil testing what else could you want. to speak to the earlier comment abou the bad experience with the old dodge p/up (and im a dodge guy to the core) its like feeding fine wine to a pig and expecting it to appreciate it. you cant blame amsoil for that. only for use in new or late model equipment.

I'm convinced that Amsoil is the best... I also like the idea of using one gas can as compared to multiple cans with various gas to oil mixtures.

I found the best way is to just go onto amsoil.com and get it from there.. especially since i paid the 20 or some odd dollars for a membership and I save more than that with each order.. I run all my trucks off of it. I know when I first ordered it i had a jeep grand Cherokee. I ordered everything such as trans fluid, diff fluids, and engine oil, and i gained TWO MPGS just from AMSOIL alone. That and the extended drain periods were enough for me to switch over. In the last two years with my two 7.3 diesels, I have been saving money using amsoil if you add up yearly costs

It's just oil that you mix with fresh gas to get your 2 stroke mix. I run it at 80:1, and love it.

Yep. I use amsoil. Good stuff. Funny story about it. Old weedeater in my storage building that didnt like to run (sat for 2 years) and was used to 50 to 1 echo oil. I put 100 to 1 amsoil in it and all the sudden it runs better than some of my new weedeaters.
I loved that ol' wacker. My wife runs its on a really small yard while I do something else across the street last Monday, when she is done she brings it to me (knowing I prefer it) only to find I was done already. On her way out, she lays my wacker on the neighbors aspargus fern to grab some trash and forgot about it. I come back 30 minutes later and its gone. Grrrrrrrr. I kinda know the neighbor guy took it because we have butted heads before about all his debris.
I am going to confront him this week but if nothing else....I hope he dont pawn it, I report all lost and stolen stuff so I can write it off at the end of the year.

Well you were the dummy for talking him into switching to any synthetic oil on an engine with that amount of time and wear on it. Conventional oil tends to swell the rubber gaskets and seals which actually helps the seals and gaskets to keep the oil in but, synthetic oil doesn't swell the gaskets and seals. So when you swapped to synthetic oil it easily escaped the gaskets and seals. Running synthetic oil on a new to fairly new engine is no problem when your gaskets and seals are in good shape but, not a good idea to do it on an engine that already has a lot of wear and time on it.

He's not likely to hear this. This is an 11 year old thread which has to be a record for dragging a thread out of the dead. guntruck hasn't posted in 5 years.
