How do dual monitors work? What is the purpose? Do you buy a special video card? Can you switch back anbd forth? I'd have way to much fun with a toy like that!!!

Why.. More screen area...can have 2 things up full screen, ect..

How.. Need 2 monitors, 2 video cards (or a dual head card), and thats about it.. ive been doing it for years and in MS XP its simple.
after you install everything the other monitor will show up in the display propertys (right click on desk top, properties) under the settings tab, and you have some options there.
then you can drag windows thru to the other monitor.

I use (2) 19 inch.

you should have pretty good computer to do this and have everything work well..

did i confuse you enuff?

Nope seems to make sense. I've only seen that in video edititing studios. I'm guessing it is more of a toy than a necessity.

depends how you look at it..
I get my office work done much faster with dual monitors then if i had only one, its also great for landscape disign. working on websites, ect.

besides i get most of my hardware at just about cost, so i guess i look at it a litle dif.

Maybe If I were to experience it once I would agree. I just don't know. Can't judge it till you try it I suppose. I guess I can see how it is usefull, just can't justify the cost part of it. I really wish I had that kind of money

amw
04-25-2005, 08:37 PM
about an extra $300.00 to do it.
i guess in canadian it would be a little more...
(i go to winsor on. a lot, the whole exchange thing sucks!)

Well today i put the trailor back in the garage, the bookshelf up in the office & half the desktops in.

BUDGET- BLOWN, but this is where i play/work, so $$$ all gone, better get back to work- need more $$$.

Good this now anyway, I can walk around without things falling over, I just cant find anything at the moment, the mess worked better! :p
