what do you think about foam filling the caster wheels or the velke wheeels? I have a lot of flats due to mowing new construction sites.

Best thing you can do. Go to a local tire place in town. Mine has a min. charge of 25 per tire but well worth it in the long run. Be sure the tires you use are relatively new.

Been discussed before.
DO IT!
My guy gets $18/min per tire. Tires last forever. Heavily grease your bearings and that tire/rim/bearing assembly will last for years.
It will make your tires heavy!

how does it work on velke tires? I bought one of the
never flat tires they sell in parts catologes and it jarred our brains out my guys won't put it back on.

They are a BIT stiffer, but I think that totally depends how the foam fill them. They're not solid rubber.
I'd do it on a Velke or caster tire. I wouldn't do it on a ZTR drive tire. It would be too rough.

Right on, bob.
We don't fill our Lazer & Z-Master drive tires. Plus I suppose a 24x12x12 tire would be $$$$$.

Has anybody ever tried some of the no-flat gel to flat proof their tires? It's kind of pricey and weighs about as much as water.
Having your caster tires and velke tires filled is the only way to go. I used to get so many flats around thorn trees, I agree with Lazer drive tires would be $$$$. And i hardly ever get flats on them just the castor fronts.

I am the opposite. I always get flats on my drive wheels and never on my caster wheels.

Drive tires usually can be plugged easily. Thats not possible with a tube or most caster tires. Get the foam.

if you foam fill (no brainer)ask for SuperFlex SoftFill because you want the softest fill, it rides the same as air.
Also LandShark Tire Systems sells complete velke, giant vac blower, 4" and 6" caster tire/wheel assemblies filled.

I put slime in my drive tires on my ZTR's. This will keep you going it case you get a pucture.

I've tried Slime and other similar products but they haven't helped in the least.

Like Stonewall, I've tried the Slime and similar products. They don't do much good. I got contracts for 8 schools and started cutting July 1st. My first week I had 22 flats on my Dixie Chopper - 12 in one day. I was spending so much time plugging and re-airing (or in some cases where the tire rolled off the rim going to the tire store) I was getting behind on my schedule. It cost me $210.00 ($1.00 per pound of product) to fill all 4 tires with the Superflex stuff, but man has it been money well spent. NO MORE FLATS!!!!!!
There are two drawbacks:
1. The mower weighs 210 pounds more now
2. Despite the companies claims, it rides a little stiffer - its not like riding on air
