I'm looking pretty hard at a Scag ztr 61" deck. Scag has a few models, and the difference is not apparent to me.
Scag has a tiger cub, wildcat and turf tiger all with 61" 'advantage' decks.

The dealer I talked with yesterday said that the tiger cub model is being discontinued.
He offered me a Wildcat for 7500. Said normally it cost 8299, and he normally sells it for 7899.
Then I see the Scag Turf Tiger which must be a step up from the tiger cub and wildcat. The turf tiger I saw advertised for 8795, but understand it could probably be had for around 8300.

Can someone explain the differences in these models.

....oh yea, I wanted to mention that both the wildcat and turf tiger for the prices mentioned come with the same engine. An air cooled 27hp Kohler engine ....so with the engine and the deck being the same, why would one pay more for a turf tiger than a wildcat? ....sure had me confused.
Thanks all.

ok I will attempt too since I just got this from my dealer. The tiger cub comes with a 48''-52'' deck and is a compact ztr. The wildcat comes with a 61'' deck only. The wildcat uses belts to drive the deck. The turf tiger the deck is driven by a drive shaft. My dealer told me the wildcat is trying to bridge the gap from a mini z to the full size ones, some features of both with a different price. The only thing he told me was that the sabre tooth and the turf tiger could become the same mower in the future
