Any successful wildflower beds for customers ? This job entails 5600 sq ft of shady woods on edge of residence. I have priced seed from 22.50 a pound to 137.00 a pound. The 137 has "native grasses (50%) in the wildflower seed. I aim to make it happen.

I have a client with a similar situation. I used trillium, jack-in-the-pulpit, ferns, a few hostas and some astilbe. Had to get permits for the protected wildflowers.

I don't know of any plants that can be direct sown as seeds like that into a shady area. You're going to have to go with actual plants, like Mike said.

I'm not aware of any seed mix.
