I need some advice........ When is it appropriate to put geoextile down before pavers........in what situations is it done... Can I use it as landscape fabric if I have extra..... or will it not let enough water through......... What’s a recommend brand and or specs should I look for in a brand

Geo-textile should be used under all pavements surfaces when clay soils are present. When I worked in Ohio every job had gg installed. Here, in Phoenix, we may use it 10% of the time. Depends on the soil where we are laying the pavers.
As for types, there are two, woven and non-woven. Non-woven feels like a heavy felt and looks allot like landscape fabric. Woven has a plastic feel to it. The ICPI recommends woven fabric under pavers.
Brands? Ask your paver supplier who they recommend or where you can get it.
Landscape fabric is not geo-textile. Using that will be a waste of time, effort and money.

Isn't geo textile extremely expensive?
The landscape supply store recommened a 5oz woven product but I believe he referred to it as landscape fabric not geo-tetxile?
Or better yet which off this list should I use (copy and paste)
