I have just (meaning the results of my exam came today) passed my commercial applicator exam. I sent off the paperwork for the required state license, and can start applying as needed next season. What I don't really know much about is using formulations other than granular. I have a BP sprayer, and a 2gal HH. WHat kind of rig should I start looking for, and what are options until then? BTW, I'm all for the IPM stuff, so classes, publications, books and anything else to further my education are good. If you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Check with your Extension Agent for local info. Also, they should be able to direct you to the ed. programs that Virginia Tech offers. If you are interested in ornamental topics, the top extension specialist is near you at a research station. Her name is Bonnie Appleton.

eslawns, I know this is probably late for your situation, but congrats on your state lic. It is quite a step and very scary when you first get into the "pesticide" buisness. All the rules and regulations, Ld50's, accidental poisonings, etc. etc. As you already know the label is the law, and you cannot go wrong with that. IMP is essential for the biosphere, although it is very labor intensive. If I can assist you with anything please let me know.
If you have a Lesco in your area, talk to them. They can be helpful with all types of questions.

Thanks folks, but I have another question also. I took these tests on 30 Nov. and have been waiting for my license. Does it come automatically or do I need to do something else? I'm in VA, and my mind was on IPM, Root Rot, and Brown Patch, not what form I might need. I know about the state business license also, does that come first?
