O.K. Guys I have a new problem with my lawn, and really need help. I put this SOD lawn in about 4 weeks ago, and 95% of it is looking great. I put a starter fertilizer into the top soil before I put the lawn down. My problem now is that parts of the lawn are dying. It is not in random spots. It looks like it started in one section, slowly spread, then stopped. A section will get real dark green then a grayish color before it turns brown. The area looks thinner too. One area is about 2 feet wide by about 10 feet and another is about 1 foot by about 3 feet. Any help, I appreciate it.
Is there a cure or do I need to start over in these sections?

Do you see any bugs under the sod? (Grubs in particular)
Is the dark green more of an "oil slick" color or consistency?
I tried helping you with a previous problem, is this in the same area?

Your starter fert may be burning the roots, you dont need to put fert under the sod usually.

Sounds like too much fert and/or poor watering as Neil and NCSU said.
