Anybody know what the spark plug gap is supposed to be on an old 2 stroke lawn boy? I can get the model number if it helps, but I figured all of the older two strokes are probably the same. I did a search for the info, but couldn't find it. Thanks in advance!;)

The gap is .30 for all Lawnboys. Both 2 and 4 stroke models.

Funny you ask. I have an old F series lawn boy (circa 1980) and the correct gap is .035", according to the mechanic's handbook. I'm glad someone is still using these things. Mine is almost 25 years old and I still use it an hour a week!

the f series is their all time best engine.

Thanks for the help, now let's hope that is all that is wrong with it.

Those older models also had some crappy CDI's. (ignition module).

You may try changing that, too. I got a new one awhile back from www.landscapersupply.com for about $30 incl. shipping.
