I really want an F250/350 with a crew cab short bed. I was planning on buying a diesel but they are so expencive. I'm looking at used and the Ford's with the V10's are much better priced out.
So my questions are
What kind of gas milage are you getting with it and how much does it differ when towing or plowing.
Is anyone having any major motor problems with it?
Do you regret not getting a diesel?

Well, I'll speak up. I don't have a truck with one, but I've got a 29 foot motorhome with a Ford V10. It's smooth, quiet and powerful, but it does suck the gas. Towing our car, running around 17,000 pounds, it gets around 7.5-8 MPG. By comparison, I rented an F550 with a diesel. I ran the snot out of it, loaded in city traffic, and got a solid 12 MPG. That's better than a 50% increase. With fuel up around 2.25 a gallon, fuel economy alone is a good reason to go diesel. For loaded, stop and go driving, I think it makes sense to go diesel despite the added initial cost.

I have a '99 F-250 with a V-10. I get between 8 and 10 mpg when pulling my trailer with the AC blowing on maximum. Depends on how heavy the trailer is loaded.

The best I've got on the higlway was 16.7 mpg, no trailer, no load, tailgate down.

I do not regret getting the V-10 because I love my truck. It's quiet, smooth and very powerful. With gas prices rising like they are though...........it really drinks the fuel.

I'm pretty sure that the next truck I buy will be an F-350 with the diesel.

well right now i'm in a chevy 2500 with a 350 and i'm getting about 10-13 mpg and when i tow it goes straight down. I fine with paying my gas bill right now and even if it goes up a little i will have no problem as long as the V10 get somewhere around 10-13 and it doesn't dip down as much when i'm towing I will be ok. I am currently hauling a 16x7 enclosed trailer at 2100 pounds empty. I usally carry a rider and 2 walkbehind in it. I don't know how much that will effect the mpg. I would be nice to have a diesel but they are so much more expencive. I also just love say V10. You sound badass when you say you have a diesel but when you say V10 people know your important.

just also wondering if the V10 is faster then the diesel?

We ran V-10 Fords at the school maintenance department I used to work at. We pulled 26 foot goosenecks around permanently with them and we got a steady 8-9 mpg with them loaded or not. They had all the power we needed and we usually hauled around two steiners or two grasshoppers and other equipment on them at all times.

I just purchased a f-250 super crew, with the 5.4 v8. The gas price is rediculus. I saved money getting the v8. But gas mileage is 10-13. The next one will be a power stroke diesel. You have to ask yourself will you have this truck for ten years? If the answer is yes then get a diesel.
