I have a tree growing in my front yard, it is about 4 years old. The tree is doing very well and this summer I have noticed that 4-5 new trunks and growing out of the ground at the base of the main trunk. Can these be transplanted, for example, to the back yard, to make new trees? If so, what would be the best way to do it? The little trunks are about 3 feet tall and seem healthy.

What kind of tree? It sounds like sucker growth from the roots. Most folks cut them off and discard, but I suppose you could transplant them if you can dig out enough of the root system for them to survive.
