I have a customer who has 23 hawthorne trees that need
pruning,how much per tree and how much to charge for
trees like flowering crabs

You make no mention as to size, but I always add in the price of a box of bandaids on Hawthornes.

What's the average size- height/spread?

Are you chipping the brush or just piling it into a truck?

Need details!

BASAL prune!

My father had to take a trip to the ER a few years ago to get a thorn fished out of his tricep.

I've poked a good sized hole in my hand with them before.

Whatever you do, MAKE SURE you have on safety glasses, and a hard hat wouldn't be a bad idea....

Unless you are just crown thinning the hawthornes you probably shouldn't be pruning them at all, especially topping. Why not talk to them about Cambistat Tree Growth Regulator instead of pruning?

I don't mind the inermis varities at all....

My bosses know I hate anything with thorns, and I tend to pitch a b*tch when I have to plant barberry or roses or hawthorns or, well, you get the picture.:D
