I've blown 6 fuses in two day when I try to crank my super Z. The small red light under the key switch go out when that fuse is blown. Also today I was mowing and my blades stopped turning and will not engage. What kind of electrical problems am I having?:(

Sounds like you have a short of some type in your system.
The clutch uses 12 volts also, and may be part of the problem / solution.
Have you contacted your dealer ? What engine is on your unit ?

24 HP Honda, Had it serviced at the dealers this week. The tech said that he suspects that it was not grounded well. Everything work fine while it was there. On my first job after service it started again.

Still having problems. Blowing fuses, the PTO switch plug-in shows a hot spot were the wires coming into the switch are over heating. I have a property that's 3.5 acres and anywhere from 30 minutes to 50 minutes into that job my PTO will stop and not run again. The dealer has another Super Z 24HP on the lot that someone else traded in because of the same problems. I sure would like to know that the prolem is. :(

Had the same thing happen twice and both times I had turned the switch on w/out starting the mower for a few seconds (talking to neighbor, etc.) and then when I turn it one step further....nothing. Its only happened twice in a year and I just don't turn the key until I'm ready to fire it up! Seems OK so far.

My 24 Honda is doing this same thing. Did you ever find any solutions to this problem?

Yes the problem has been solved. The lawn-mower consultant worked with the dealer that I purchased my Z from to solve the problem. They replaced the entire wiring harness and spoke of replacing some kind of diode that regulated the voltage going to the switch. Needless to say that I have not had the problem after this fix. There was one other 24HP Honda at the dealers having the same problem that they fixed using the same fix.

After burning 5 or six blade switches and a lot of lost time; I changed the electric clutch seems to have solved the problem. Mine is a 24hp Honda. Most problems they have had, seem to be with the Honda's.

I have a Super Z, 27HP Kohler I bought new this year have the same problem with blowing fuzes. Have to have spares with me at all times this and the backfiring, running in reverse when you shut it down. Stated trying shutting fuel off and running it out of gas to get away from the backfiring. If they have a fix sure would like to know of it.

On a Kohler we have run into this 2 times. Both times it was the same problem. The main power cable going to the starter was loose causing a poor connection and high resistance. Cleaned the wires and tighten it up . No problems since.
To be honest we honest we have had no Honda's give us issues!!!

Just got my 27 Super Z back from Whitley Lawn and Garden this week and I hope the problem is fixed. Chad brought the mower back a couple of weeks ago from replacing the clutch and idler pulleys and servicing everything. The first time I cranked the mower it was fine when I tried to start it for the second time it blew the 10 amp fuse. The mower had never done this before Chad had worked on it. He picked it back up and said the blower motor on top of the engine had some dirt in it and when they pressure washed it the problem started. I would like some input from others on this because he told me that he did not have one Hustler mower that had a 10 amp fuse in this place they were all 15 amp fuses. Can anyone tell me if Hustler had already noticed a problem here from a little more amperage draw than was calculated and stepped up to a higher amp fuse because I had never blown a fuse of any kind on this mower. Thanks Reid
