Kohler 20 hp dies when choke is shut off on start up

When I do normal cold start up with choke on. I get engine started go to shut choke off engine dies. Doesn't matter if choke is on 5 sec. or 5 min. turn choke off it dies. Changed fuel filter, air filter, checked fuel pump. Its all ok. Need help.

I would drain the gas and put fresh gas in it and try again, it could be old or have water in it. If that does not I would check the carb, you could have water or trash in it. It sounds like you may have a stopped up jet in the carb.
