i have a customer and he wants me to plant shrubs or trees for privacy from his neighbors pool.the area where he wants the work done is under all these trees which are trimmed up maybe 8 feet.its pretty much full shade. anyone have any ideas on what i can plant that will do good in the shade as well as privacy??

Hydrangeas do well in the shade

Leyland Cypress do well in shade and will provide a great screen. There somewhat costly though.

well first think about the roots of the old trees.....can you even plant under them or will you have to break up every root to plant shrubs? i would stay with a broad leaf ever green....preferably something that does not flower.

or possibly you could suggest a fence! I can not understand why people like to plant screens under large trees.
