If you are layong down sod, don't put down fertilizer. With fert the grass will use all its energy to green up, when it needs to be establishing a strong root system. Just soak it completely with water and roll it. ROLL ALL OF THE SOD, NOT JUST THE EDGES.
How long will it take you to excavate and till it?
I would charge about 300-350 for laying down and rolling the sod depending on how close I could get my truck or the pallet of sod.

well itll only take me like 30min to excavate it, then another 20 or 30 to till it. i figure it will only take 3 or so hours to do it all. i told her 300. hopefully ill get it. i told her if she wanted me to just take everything out itd be 150 so hopefully ill do the sod instead.

Based on your description I have/would charge $590.
Define "excavate". Do you mean just shaving the existing sod?

In my area sod is sold by the sq.yard, 18'x6' rolls. That would be about 34 rolls. I charge $3.50/roll which includes the cost of the sod and $35 delivery fee. The excavation would be extra and determined by the condition of the current soil.
No need to fertilize. Rolling is also a waste of time and money.
