I just got my striping kit for my month old Mini Z and put it on. When I was loading the mower on the trailer I got stuck because the striper was hanging and the tires were spining on the pavment. Today I almost got stuck in a ditch because of the striping kit. I was wondering what other people use for a striping kit and if others have this problem. Will my dealer take the kit back???

Do you have it up as high as it will go? Give it some time and you will love it!!

How steep is your trailer ramp ?
How steep was the ditch ?
I have not heard of any hanging up.
I will pass this on to our product service team.

My trailer has a 4 foot ramp and is about 16 inches off the ground. I am going to give it a couple of weeks to see if the problem gets better. Thanks!

I hate to say it, but I am glad to see I am not the only one having this problem. I have been dealing with this problem for over a month and every one I talk to gives me a different answer. If any Hustler reps are out there please help me! I hope someone some where is working on this problem!!!

I was told today that they are aware of the problem and are working on the solution.
I will update everyone here on LS when I have more info.

PJ, do you have any idea how long it will take before the new kit is ready? Hope it does not take as long for the new kit as it did for the first one. Thanks for the info!!

I have the same problem with the stripe kit
on my Hustler Z. I have been stuck more times
in the last month than the first year of buisness.
I really believe that it has reduced my mobility of
my machine by atleast 15 - 20%.
In some situations I belive it can be down right dangerous/hazzardous.
I know!
I can take it off as easy as I put it on but my customers
really like it.

HustlerZman, I feel the same way you do! Hustler has been very slow at taking care of the problem!!!!!!!!!! I was told that they tested a new material for the flap, but they are still having problems.

Man o man.......thank you so much for your info. I was a nats breath away from sinking a Franklin on one for my Super Z.
I will wait to see what Hustler brings out or else play with making my own.
Thanks again

saw you are gonna sell the mini_z...
if i can ask-why are you selling?
as far the stripe kit on my mini_z, dont think the flap material is the only problem, as the metal bracket hangs/bottoms out when trying to load on trailer--the lil z just spins.....

greasy gun, I am wanting to get a bigger mower with a wider deck.
We've got one on our Super Z, and yes if you are not careful, you can get hung up. I heard complaints from our operators for the first week it was on, but after that our guys got the hang of running the machine with it on. Since the first week it was on we've probably been stuck 3 times tops as a result of the kit. When it happens you get of the machine and give a jerk on the front caster support and you're back in business. The benefits of the kit outweigh the disadvantages as far as we're concerned. There is no such thing as a perfect product...one must just get used to the machine and know what you can and can't do with it. We don't feel we are any less mobile as a result of the kit, you just have to know how to approach terrain that my hang you up.

Ben, sorry, but that don't wash for me. No one wants perfect, just functional. HUSTLER should know about the hanging up before they sell the product. I love my super z, and need a kit, but haven't bought one because even 3 times screws up my productivity. And, thats 3 more times on your electric clutch unless the safetys are disconnected. Just my opinion.

I agree, all I want is a product that is functional!!!! Could some one tell me why Hustler does not put the striping kit behind the deck like Exmark and GrassHopper???
