I live in Harris County,- Houston Texas
I have been filing my income tax at the end of the year, however I don't collect sales tax. I once read that if you don't make more than $5000.00 quarterly you need not pay? Does this sound correct?
Any suggestions for me to find out?

You really need an accountant, at least to get you started on the right path to where you could pick it up later to do it yourself. Get a good one because I had one that wasn't very good and it cost me in more ways than one.

Call the state comptroller office in Austin or go see them at the local branch. It's off of beltway 8 on Imperial Valley.

Last Aug I started my business, so I only had 4 months for 2003. Since I made less than $5,000.00 for 2003 I did not have to pay in. This year I do however , I have it set up to pay my sales tax at the end of the year. If you call Austin or the office in Houston like the other landscaper said, they will help you with any questions. -Later- Jesse
